About Team 4564
We are FIRST Team 4564, from Brewer High School in Brewer, Maine. Our team was founded in the fall of 2012. The team is heading into its fifth year and we now have four competition robots, Sasha, Natasha, Clawdia (now modified with no claw) so just Dia, and Windsor. Our off-season robots include parade bot Wall-e and new competition robot Long Bob. We meet twice a week all year round at our robot shop in the Alpha class rooms in the basement of the Superintendent's office building.
We had a great fourth year where Windsor brought us all the way to Championships in St. Louis. We ended up in 8th place on our field and were chosen by the second seed alliance. We played a hard game and ended up forcing a third match in semi-finals where we unfortunately were not able to push further than that. It was a great set of matches that just ended with unforeseeable issues. In the New England District we ended up in 5th out of 184 teams.
//This summer the team took our robots to STEM out-reach programs around our area including the 4th of July parade (an annual favorite), demos for a group of home school kids and three demos at The Challenger Center summer camps and their open house. We will be having our 3rd annual Craft Fair, Sept. 12 from 9-2 and the Darling's Drive 4 UR School from 9-4 at the Brewer High School as part of our town's Brewer Day's events. We will have robot demos and the Darling's Ice Cream Truck will be their too. Proceeds from the Drive 4UR School will be shared by the robotics team and the music dept.
//We competed in the off-season events Battle Cry at WPI, BeanTown at Reading High School, and Summer Heat with Maine"s very own Team 58 at S Portland High. We are planning on attending the Robot Rodeo sponsored by the Iron Tigers of Gardner High School, Mainely Spirit at Messalonski High School, and hoping to attend Battle of the Bay at Pleasant Mountain High School in New Hampshire. We are looking forward to our next challenge from FIRST in January 2016!

What is FIRST you ask?
It is a worldwide program that teaches kids not only electrical, mechanical and computer skills but also communication, business and team working skills. One of our favorite terms from the FIRST community is "Coopertition ®" which means competing always, but assisting and enabling others when you can. This organization has inspired and changed many kids lives as they have discovered the joy of learning about STEM and about the FIRST competition.
