Orange Chaos hosted pneumatic training for the participants of the annual FIRST robotics training day at Messalonskee high school. Pneumatics (compressed air powered systems) are used on FIRST robots to lift and move objects.
When the oncoming build season is here, our schedule is going to be much more hectic. With the coming changes such as new challenge, there will also be a hectic schedule. While subject to change, our proposed meeting times are Tuesday and Thursday, from 6pm-9pm as well as Sunday from 10am-2pm.
The 2014 FIRST Robotics challenge will be announced Globally on January 4th.
The team will go to U Southern Maine in Portland for the announcement and to get our Kit Of Parts.
Build season will be here before we know it!!!
Messalonskee high school will host FIRST robotics training again this year on December 7th. The team will participate, probably bring our pneumatics training assembly and conduct training for all the teams.
Hopefully the new team from Old Town can travel with us. Great opportunity to meet the team and shar storie
The team had a couple tables at the Eagles Club craft fair. One table for crafts and goodies to sell and the other for assembling the Field Elements for the State LEGO League competition.
The team built a training and test assembly for pneumatics. Jim and Matt wire and test the assembly while Steve and Steven work on programming 'Sasha' to control the solenoid valves to actuate the cylinders.
Drew and Whitney assemble the components.
The team had a tour of the engineering departments at U Maine Orono. They were very interested in robotic surgery and of course the dancing robots!
They toured classrooms and laboratories in the computer, electrical, mechanical, chemical and robotics departments.
thanks Mike Farrington for
At this meeting we had a parent meeting about new people joining robotics and upcoming events. We worked on preparing for the craft fair, programming worked on the angle of of the Frisbee shot and hooking up a xbox controller to the beach bot. Also the design for the trailer was worked on. It was a very productive meeting.
