Tonight the team moved all our robot, tools, equipment and supplies to our new home in the old Middle school on Center street. It's a little humble but at least we have a home to call our own.
Tuesday we'll do our final pack-up for the competition in Lewiston. We'll leave from the parking lot at the new building at 7AM Thursday morning headed to the Pine Tree Regional in Lewiston.

![]() The team's been busy on the robot cart. It's painted brewer colors, has tool boxes (also Brewer Colors) and a big work area for the robot........not that we'll need to work on it much! Future plans: under-glow lights, drive system....and maybe sound system. The teams new rolling tool cabinet is assembled and ready to go to the competition. ![]() Verso gate fund raiser. Ian, Alex, Ben and Steven. It was cold and snowed occasionally but the return was excellent! We had a lot of interest in what the team was doing (had slide shows of team building). Next time we'll have a robot to demonstrate.....this years robot is locked-up until the competition in a couple weeks. Thanks VERSO! Sunday (3/24) the team will meet at the BHS Drafting room to review and finalize plans for the Pine Tree Regional competition in Lewiston April 4,5,6.
All team members going to the Competition must attend with a parent or guardian. We'll review the teams plans and rules, collect money for hotel rooms for those who have not met their fundraising goal. We'll also discuss the competition schedule etc. (review the previous email with much more detail) If anyone wants to do a bottle drive on their own, or organize a group, the team (Brewer HS Robotics) has an account at Brewer Redemption in the IGA plaza. They'll put the money in the teams account, give them your name so the money can be credited to each members travel fund and send the amount to Everett for tracking.
Last Saturday the group did very well. It's early in the year for most groups to do bottle drives so you can get the winter stock-pile from many homes. Contact Everett or Drew if you want to know what streets have been covered (last group only did 5 streets for over $200). Due to the fundraiser at Verso we won't have a regular meeting tomorrow evening.
Thursday we'll have a fundraiser at the Verso mill in Bucksport to help pay the teams trip to the Pine Tree Regional Robotics competition in Lewiston in a couple weeks. Interested team members will leave the BHS Drafting room at 2:30. Transportation for team members and supplies is needed.
Call Everett if you can help with transportation or have questions. |
